Imagine a business that produces its own electricity, pays lower bills and is protected from future spikes in electricity prices. That’s what the new procedure offers.“BG16RFPR001-2.004 – Energy efficiency and use of renewable energy in enterprises“ a valuable opportunity to finance RES projects and improve the energy efficiency of enterprises.

Thanks to this program, your business can:

  • Reduce your energy costs by up to 80%
  • To achieve energy independence
  • To contribute to a cleaner environment
  • To increase its competitiveness in the market

And all this — with a grant of up to 65% of the investment!

What does renewable energy financing include?

The procedure finances not only the construction of photovoltaic installations for own consumption, but also smart inverters, batteries for electricity storage and complete photovoltaic power plants. Heat pump systems, biomass boilers, heat recovery, as well as solar collectors for hot water are also eligible.

This makes the program extremely valuable for companies looking for a long-term solution to optimize their energy costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

Aid amount and eligible investments

The amount you can receive as grant funding is between BGN 30,000 and BGN 100,000 (excluding VAT). This represents up to 65% of the value of the approved project, with the maximum total budget not exceeding BGN 153,846 excluding VAT.

The program finances a wide range of renewable energy solutions, including:

  • Photovoltaic systems for own consumption
  • Solar panels with efficiency ≥ 20%
  • Hybrid or standalone inverters with efficiency ≥ 96%
  • Energy storage systems (batteries) with a 10-year warranty
  • Additionally: heat pumps, biomass boilers, recuperators and solar collectors for hot water

Application requirements: Who can receive funding for RES?

To take advantage of this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a company registered under the Commercial Law before 31.12.2021.
  • Be a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise according to the SME Act
  • Have generated a minimum of BGN 100,000 in net sales revenue for 2022 and 2023 in total
  • To declare support for your main economic activity according to the NACE Rev. 2008 (validated with data from the National Statistical Institute for 2023)
  • Have revenues for 2023 as follows:
  • Microenterprises: ≥ 100,000 BGN.
  • Small businesses: ≥ 300,000 BGN.
  • Medium-sized enterprises: ≥ 1,000,000 BGN.

❌ You will not be allowed if you operate in certain sectors such as agriculture, IT services, gambling, fisheries, or certain sub-sectors of the food industry.
