Victron Smart Battery Sense battery sensor<\/h2>\n

Smart Battery Sense is a wireless battery voltage and temperature sensor for Victron MPPT solar controllers. When the controller knows what the voltage and temperature are, the batteries will charge better. Improve charging efficiency and extend battery life.<\/p>\n

Improves battery charging<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • By measuring the voltage at the battery terminals, errors arising from voltage loss due to cable resistance are avoided – ensuring the correct charging voltage.<\/li>\n
  • For lead-acid batteries, battery temperature data is used to adjust charging voltages: cold batteries require increased voltage, while hot batteries require decreased voltage. For lithium batteries, temperature data is used to disable charging when they are too cold: charging lithium batteries near or below freezing causes permanent cell damage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

    Don’t look for cables<\/h3>\n

    • The connection between Smart Battery Sense and one or more solar charge controllers is wireless: it uses VE.Smart Network – wireless technology based on Bluetooth Smart.<\/li>\n
    • The transmitted information can be used simultaneously by one or more solar charge controllers connected to the same bank of 12V, 24V and 48V batteries. The smart grid is set up using the VictronConnect app.<\/li>\n
    • 10 meter range<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
