Photovoltaic system maintenance

Maintenance of photovoltaic systems ensures their maximum efficiency and long life.

Professional maintenance of photovoltaic systems

Proper and regular maintenance of photovoltaic systems is a key factor in ensuring the long-term and efficient operation of your installation. Over time, contaminants and external conditions can affect the performance of solar panels. Therefore, it is important to have your system regularly inspected and maintained by professionals.

Main advantages of solar system maintenance

Regular maintenance prevents potential problems, ensures safe operation and provides a number of benefits that guarantee maximum return on investment and extend the life of the system:

  • Extending system life: Reduces the risk of defects and serious damage that could require expensive repairs or equipment replacement.

  • Optimal energy efficiency: Regular inspection and cleaning ensure maximum use of solar energy and higher performance.

  • Preventing accidents: Proactive maintenance helps identify potential problems before they become serious.

  • Reducing repair costs: Through regular inspections and replacement of small components, large and expensive repairs are avoided and significant savings are achieved.

What does the solar system maintenance service include?

Our maintenance services are designed to meet all the needs of your photovoltaic system, ensuring trouble-free operation and high efficiency. The main activities include:

  • Tightening connections in electrical panels: Due to daily heating and cooling, the terminals of fuses and other electrical equipment tend to loosen over time. Tightening them every few months prevents tripping and blown fuses.

  • Structural inspection: Wind-induced vibrations, as well as daily movement of panels due to thermal differences, although unlikely, can loosen some fasteners in the structure. It is a good idea to inspect at least once a year.

  • Check ground and lightning protection connections: these connections sometimes become compromised, corroded, or even disappear if they are in a public place. It is a good idea to do a visual inspection at regular intervals.

  • DC cable insulation testing: if any of the solar cables rubs against a sharp edge or rough surface, it is possible that it will be compromised and this could lead to serious consequences. We use a professional Seaward PV150 insulation tester to test the insulation to make sure there is no such problem.

  • Visual inspection of AC cable routes: a visual inspection of the cables is performed for fraying, animal bites, pinching, or other defects on the cables.

  • Updating equipment software: updating all equipment with the most current software version always leads to more optimal system performance.

  • Review of current and past alarms in inverters: historical error alarms can show us a problem that only occurs under certain conditions. Based on the information from the alarms, we can find the cause.

  • Preparation of a technical report: after the visit, you will receive a report with a list of all procedures performed, as well as photos if any problem was identified and fixed.
